Faborable Supporting Directions For Working And Living

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010

Home offices are an integral part in the modern world – working from your home office means that you most likely spend eight hours at your desk or work station. As an increasing number of people are establishing home based businesses and are working from their home to create income, Feng Shui can be used to enhance your personal energies.

Every person has supportive and un-supportive personal directions to work in. The East / West system is also referred to as the school of the Eight Mansions.. This practice is very popular in Asia and adopted by many managers, corporations and business owners. The East / West system is not only based on the environment but also on the science of magnetic directional energies. It is concluded that everyone has four un-supportive as well as four supportive compass directions.

Your home office has all directions within it, and by situating yourself in any of your four good supporting directions will improve your productivity, increase your energies and your overall well-being.In placing your desk in such way that you are facing the “magnetic energy” from any of your supportive directions you will quickly feel the difference.Avoid placing your desk in your home office in a way that you have the entry to your office behind you.If it is at all possible for you to place your desk or work station in such a way that your back is supported by a solid wall.

The East/West System (Ba Zhai) is a particular ‘easy’ teaching as a part of Feng Shui, however it plays an integral part in “Classical Feng Shui”.The purpose for you is to receive your favorable ‘directional’ energies by also avoiding if at all possible un-supporting directions.

As the East/West system is based on simple mathematical calculations it does not require complicated mathematical calculations as needed in the advanced Feng Shui schools.

In order to calculate a Personal Trigram, and the favorable four directions of a person, it needs to be understood that the Chinese calendar does not run from January to December rather than from February to February, and a person born between January 1st and February 5th needs to go back to the previous year of his or her birth.  (E.G: A person born on February 2nd 1985 needs to go back to 1984)

Again, it is important to understand that your home office is part of a Normal 0 0 1 7 45 1 1 55 11.773 0 0 0 Audit – Please also take a look at yesterday’s article in which we focused on some easy “tips and tricks” how you can start creating a better home office environment by simply taking the first step of de-cluttering your office.

What To Consider When Building Your Home Office

Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010

If you are reading this article I can only assume that you have decided to take on the challenge of converting a part of your lodgings into a home office. When trying to decide something like this there are some things that you should consider. They are outlined below.

Purchasing A Desk For Your Home Office

When discussing a home office the one thing that immediately comes to mind is the desk. Am I right? Since this one piece of furniture or equipment will be the most essential piece you must give it much thought. So if you are really set on making a home office then you must give this one piece some very serious thought.

Most desks have lots of drawers or shelves maybe an area designed specifically for a computer. These are all convenient features. But before you decide what features are best you must give some serious thought to what you will be using your desk for. You will also need to design your office take some time to get the perfect layout. Do you want a desk with large shelving attached and color will also play a factor. So depending upon your color scheme and your office space and layout you may opt for a black corner desk.

Choosing The Right Home Office Furniture

When it comes to choosing the right home office furniture you do have many different styles to choose from. There’s different office furniture styles and brands at a range of prices. You can get office furniture at a reasonable price but you usually have to assemble to yourself unless you want to pay to have it assembled. It will all be driven by your budget. The first thing to decide is what you will need your office furniture to do. Will you need filing cabinets, book cases, a floor safe, or a place to store your cd’s and other types of media?

Probably the second most important piece of furniture if not the most important is your office chair or chairs depending upon if you will have clients over. One of the other most important peices of furniture is your chair you will be in it for so many hours per day. Ergonomics are important. Having the proper chair will make a difference and it will show in your work. I can’t tell you how many people I know that have built home offices and have purchased two or three chairs because they couldn’t get comfortable nor had back pain. Here are a few things to look for when selecting your office chair.

*seats that are adjustable,  a swivel base, a backrest, the right amount of cushioning, armrests that are adjustable, and last but not least good lumbar support.

Decorating your Home Office

One area of the home office that seems to be the most neglected is the decorations. Home offices are mostly designed for one or two people. So they feel that it isn’t important to have nice decorations because after all whose going to see it and why go through the expense of fancy decorations. Well my friends decorating your home office is important why? Because after all this is what sets the mood. Remember if you work in a dark and dingy office your work will probably be the same. When it comes to decorating your home offce you can find very inexpensive ways to get more out of your people don’t.

The best an usually most inexpensive ways to decorate your office is with plants. Silk plants are always a great way to decorate your home office. If you don’t have a big budget try going to thrift stores for office decorations and furniture as well. If you have a local flea market in your area you can find some real gems I have decorated many offices on a shoestring budget in this fashion with great results.

Purchasing A Computer For Your Home Office Computer

I have to say that I can’t even think of any home office that couldn’t do without a computer. I’m sure there may be a few businesses that don’t see the need. But I think that if you want to be a part of the 21st century then you need a computer. The type of computer will nedd is really based pon your needs. Should you buy cheap or expensive. Do you need a computer with a lot of ram? Or will you need a bigger hard drive? Do your homework. Search online to determine which computer will best suit your business. I have also found that most salespeople at computer retail chains are very helpful when it comes to steering you in the right direction. You would think that shy would want to sell you the biggest and most expensive pc. But I have found that they are normally truthful and very helpful. Most computer retailers train their staff that way.

Computers are a must in home offices nowadays. Therefore, you need to take your time when out shopping for a computer to use at your office. It is easy to be deceived by the idea of buying the most expensive ones, thinking that it is of the best quality. However, it should eventually be determined by the nature of your work. Are you one that will be using the computer oftne throughout the day? Or do you use your computer to store information?

So as you can see there are many factors to consider when building your home office so take your time and give it plenty of thought. Look for specials and try to do it yourself if you are on a budget.

You do not have to toss all with all of the crowds in order to get to your office, but simply need to head down to your own office space and work from your own computer workstation furniture.

Design Your Home Office Professionally

Tuesday, May 11th, 2010

If you design your home office professionally, then you could end up being much more successful than you have ever thought. The fact is, working in an uninviting and noisy environment can really make it impossible to succeed. For one thing, you’d make all kinds of excuses to find other things to do, rather than enter this area. But in a well-designed workspace, productivity will increase and you will be in an area that you like to be in.

If you are working from home, it’s important that you find a location in one of the rooms that will provide you with the peace that everyone needs to focus better. If space is an issue, you’ll be happy to know that it isn’t anymore because you can invest in a corner computer workstation.

Computer workstation furniture can easily be tucked into the corner as the name suggests, saving all kinds of space. So, there is no reason why it can’t fit even in a small bedroom.

Pay special attention to the design of the furniture and the room. Try to get a designer’s touch which will make you feel even more comfortable, and could help you to be that much more productive. Find all the storage solutions that you can to ensure that your area always stays neat and tidy. Don’t allow it to ever become cluttered with different items as this can affect you in a negative way.

Let’s take for example, a home office whereby an Internet business that creates passive income online is the main purpose of this particular space. That would mean that paperwork is probably kept at a minimum, as most work will be on the computer. Either way, as little or as much as your paperwork might be, you should file it away regularly to keep the area free from clutter.

As this is our example, you probably have a lot more files on your computer rather than hard copy. Again, filing is a very important part in any office situation. So, ensure that you find the best filing system and follow it to the tee.

What you are aiming to achieve is a professional setting, even if you work from home, and even if that work that you do is simply supplementing your main income stream. Take a look at a professional office and try to mimic the look and all the equipment that is used to make it a smooth operation. Then, try to implement all that in your workspace.
